1st Regional National Defence Course Launched

• For the first time, a course in Defence Culture is being delivered outside the Community of Madrid

The 1^st  Regional National Defence Course  was officially inaugurated at the assembly hall of the Andalusian Defence Delegation in Seville. Organised by the Centre for Higher National Defence Studies (CESEDEN in Spanish), this marks the first time the course has been held outside Madrid.

The course is designed to promote the dissemination of Defence Culture across Spain's autonomous regions. Classified as an Advanced National Defence Studies programme, it brings together 40 participants, including regional parliamentarians, senior officials of the Andalusian Government, university professors, defence industry executives, media professionals, senior officers from the Armed Forces, members of the State Security Forces and Corps, and other prominent figures from Andalusian society.

The course was opened by CESEDEN Director, Lieutenant General Miguel Ballenilla y García de Gamarra, and features a distinguished line-up of civilian and military speakers specialising in security and defence. The programme also includes visits to military units and defence industry facilities based in Andalusia, as well as a professional visit to Brussels, where participants will have the opportunity to visit NATO Headquarters, the European Parliament, and Spain’s Permanent Representation to both institutions.
