In Warsaw, Poland
March 27, 2025
  • The Cyber Commanders of EU countries have gathered with the goal of developing strategies to better protect against the vulnerabilities of computer systems

Poland hosted the the Conference of Cyber Commanders and Cyber Ambassadors of EU member states (CyberCo). One of the main objectives of this meeting is to facilitate the exchange of information regarding the tools and security measures necessary to counter sophisticated attacks powered by Artificial Intelligence.

The Commander of the Spanish Joint Cyber Command, Vice Admiral Javier Roca Rivero, represented Spain at this CyberCo within the framework of military cyber defence.

Although this meeting typically includes only the Commanders, this time Ambassadors with expertise in cyber matters also participated, bringing a political perspective to the discussion.

All participating countries are aware of the importance of engaging in such forums, as the exchange of cyber information ensures the proper development of our tools at both national and international levels.

In order to promote decision-making tools, the Spanish delegation presented to the other countries the initiative led by Spain, in collaboration with Italy, France, and Estonia, which has allowed an international consortium of companies to develop Intelligence and Dominance in Cyberspace for European Defence (ECYSAP). This tool helps monitor in real time the status of any cyber threats that may affect a mission.

Efforts continue to establish a classified system for information exchange and cooperation in order to achieve the goals outlined in the European Union's 2030 Agenda.
