Joint Cyber Command Hosts the ‘Capture The Flag’ Exercise of the CSIRT.es Forum

• The first CSIRT.es ‘Capture The Flag’ exercise involved 30 cybersecurity professionals

As part of the CSIRT.es forum, the first 'Capture The Flag' (CTF) exercise was held at the Retamares Base, aimed at promoting collaboration among national Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs)

During the CTF, 30 cybersecurity professionals simulated the maintenance of a country’s critical infrastructures, involving organizations and companies such as INCIBE, CSA, MAPFRE, RENFE, INDRA, among others.

This exercise initiative was organized by the CSIRT.es coordinating committee. The Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) provided the model to visualize the exercise in real time, allowing participants to observe the changes occurring in their "fictional country" as a result of the decisions they were making.

It is also important to highlight that Spanish Joint CyberDefence Command (MCCE), as part of the coordinating committee, offered its facilities for the exercise. The collaboration between CSA and the MCCE was crucial for the smooth execution of all phases of the CTF.

The next CSIRT.es forum meeting will take place on April 29^th , again at the Retamares Base facilities.
