The Joint Cyber Command is actively participating in this latest edition of the Mobile World Congress (MWC), held in Barcelona, which brings together leading experts and top industry companies.

Brigadier General Federico Juste de Santa Ana, Deputy Commander of the Joint Cyber Command, contributed to an expert panel titled: ‘Federated 5G Multidomain Testbeds in NATO Nations’. This panel, part of the MWC’s inaugural activities, included leading experts in the field.

The discussion was moderated by Jesús Abraham, Director of the Defense Innovation Department at Telefónica, and included contributions from Ted K. Woodward, Technical Director of the FutureG Office at the U.S. Department of Defense; Antonio Calderón, NATO’s Technical Director for Communication and Information; and Brigadier General Juste de Santa Ana, Deputy of the Joint Cyber Command

Each panelist outlined the technological advancements being implemented by their respective institutions or organizations within their operational domains. The Joint Cyber Command emphasized how its 5G laboratory significantly enhances command and control capabilities. The primary mission of the Joint Cyber Command is to safeguard military networks and ensure the Armed Forces' freedom of maneuver in cyberspace. Additionally, the Command is adopting new operational models to enhance efficiency and accomplish mission objectives while minimizing resource expenditure, as required.

Brigadier General Juste de Santa Ana also introduced the Artificial Intelligence Reference Center, currently under development within the Joint Cyber Command, which is expected to optimize technical processes across all operational units.

Only through robust public-private, civil and military cooperation can effective and resilient cyber defense be ensured. Events such as the MWC play a critical role in positioning the Joint Cyber Command as a leading institution in cyber operations, promoting collaboration, sharing best practices, and reinforcing operational synergies
