Spanish Army units - belonging to the Land Component Command of the Allied Reaction Force (ARF) - took part in Romania's national military exercise 'Dacia 25'. 5,000 soldiers from France, the United Kingdom, Spain and Türkiye carried out various operational activities alongside the Romanian Armed Forces.
The main objective of the 'Dacia 25' exercise was to prepare and strengthen the Romanian Land Forces. It also provided an opportunity to improve interoperability between Romanian forces and those of other Allied countries, particularly in the area of ground operations.
During the exercise, the Tactical Subgroup No. 2, made up of the Spanish units of the Legion Brigade (BRILEG), based in the 7th Company of the VIII 'Colón' Flag, carried out a defensive manoeuvre. Specifically, it conducted a delaying operation aimed at driving the enemy into a specific area in order to neutralise them and regain the ground.
The whole manoeuvre was supported by the fires of the field artillery units, including the battery of the Field Artillery Group of BRILEG, together with other British and Romanian fire support units, and the mortars of the Tactical Subgroup No. 2 of the same Brigade.
The 'Dacia 25' and the 'Steadfast Dart 25' have demonstrated the ability of NATO Allied forces to cooperate and coordinate by integrating a variety of units in a complex combat scenario.
