The ‘Torrejón’ Combined Air Operations Center (CAOC ‘Torrejón’) has successfully concluded the exercise 'Torrejon Advantage 24-02', (TAD 24-02) whose objective is to train personnel in the conduct of a high intensity crisis.
Through this initiative, CAOC ‘Torrejón’ personnel are trained, both operationally and tactically, in a joint-combined environment, and within the scope of an Air Component Command Headquarters. The exercise is based on a hybrid conflict, including activity in cyberspace and in space.
In this way, the training, running for five days, simulated the execution of a 'Small Joint Operation-Air Heavy', to prepare the participants for the upcoming 'STEADFAST DUEL 24' exercise, which is part of the NATO-organized annual program.
In addition to personnel from CAOC Torrejón, there were also participants from Alliance member countries, such as Albania, Bulgaria, France, Greece, Montenegro and the United Kingdom, as well as two from CAOC Uedem. In consequence, we achieved a standardization of the techniques, tactics and procedures that are used.

The main mission of the Torrejón CAOC is to plan, conduct, coordinate, supervise, analyze and report on air defense operations in Southern Europe, following the directives of the NATO Air Component Command on which it depends, and with the means assigned to NATO by the nations in peacetime.
The Spanish Armed Forces make an important contribution to the mission carried out by this centre. Some 120 Spanish military personnel serve in the CAOC, the National Support Element (NSE) and the NATO Communications and Information Agency Unit (NCIA).
