The exercise Pacific Skies is coming to an end, albeit the intensity of the severe training of the Spanish pilots is not diminishing. At the present time, the deployed personnel will participate in Tarang Shakti, the largest international air exercise organised in India to date, whose first stage takes place from 6 to 12 of August, and whose main objective is to promote military collaboration and to increase interoperability with allied countries, on this occasion Germany, France, United Kingdom and India. Moreover, it is the first time that the Air and Space force has deployed in India.
Inspired by the exercise Red Flag 2024, it will allow the Spanish pilots to learn tactics and procedures of weapon systems that differ from those used in ordinary trainings. In addition, they will be trained in missions of Air-to-Surface Air Attack, Air Control and close combat with simulated use of Air-to-Air weaponry.
Along with the regular dissimilar combat operations to which pilots are used to, the Spanish Eurofighters will face, among others, the Sukhoi Su-30 (Flanker-C), Indian aircrafts manufactured in Russia, in one-on-one and one-on-two combat.
The exercise Tarang Shakti demonstrates, once again, that the Air and Space Force of Spain is an expeditionary aerospace force, which provides training to its airmen in high complexity situations and seeks excellence in current and future landscapes, integrating technologically advanced and interoperable capabilities from various allied countries.
