Joint Special Operations Command participates in exercise STEADFAST DETERRANCE

• Special Operations Component Command participates in Alliance Reaction Force Headquarter certification

After its recent certification as a Special Operations Component Command (SOCC) of the Alliance Reaction Force (ARF), the Joint Special Operations Command participates in Exercise STEADFAST DETERRANCE at the Joint Warfare Centre Stavanger in Norway.

This exercise led by SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) integrates all Strategic, Operational and Tactical levels for Alliance Reaction Force Headquarters certification.

The exercise coordinates for the first time all forces and commands participating in the ARF, including NATO's Special Operations Command. With a participation of 834 military personnel of 29 nationalities, it is the ARF's main CPX (Command Post Exercise) exercise, which will go on alert on 1 July 2024 for a period of one year.
