  • The flight was made with the Antonov 30 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force

In agreement with the Open Skies Treaty (OSCT), a team composed of four members of the Spanish Verification Unit (SVU), accompanied by representatives of the Verification Units of Benelux, Portugal and Romania, deployed to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 13 to 17 May to conduct an observation flight.

All operations related to this quota flight were conducted from Sarajevo airport. Prior to the execution of the flight, both the aircraft and the observation sensors were inspected by representatives of the Bosnian Verification Unit. Spain led all phases of this flight: negotiation of the mission plan, execution of the observation flight and preparation of the final report.

The distance flown was 711 km, 750 km being the maximum distance allowed by the ATT for this country. The new Romanian electro-optical sensor was used for the observation flight and 318 frames were obtained. The processing of the resulting images was carried out in Sarajevo with a ground processing unit provided by Romania. After processing, and in accordance with the operational agreement signed previously, the participating countries obtained a copy of the images obtained.
