  • After a complex exercise full of complications and thrilling challenges, the BT-11 (Blue Team) concludes the LS24 exercise on a high mark

'Locked Shields 2024', the most challenging international cyberspace exercise, concludes at the ‘Retamares’ Base.

The Joint Cyberspace Command concludes with the goal achieved of coordinating the efforts of more than 200 people, from different countries, in a single direction, to defend the sovereignty of the (fictitious) country that was under attack by an adversary.

Numerous private enterprises, public organizations, personnel of the State Security Forces and Corps and military personnel from Portugal, Chile and Brazil, along with the Spaniards, have spoken the universal language of “1” and “0” during the last three days. They have managed to defend their “country” and cooperate with the other cells, joining forces and sharing responsibilities.

During the days in which the exercise was carried out, visits were received, among others, by the Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, accompanied by the Chief of Defence, Admiral General Teodoro López Calderón and the Commander of the Operations Command, Lieutenant General Francisco Braco Carbó, and other military officials and representatives of private companies and public organizations.

This exercise helps to strengthen relationships among companies interested in cooperating with the Joint Cyberspace Command and has also contributed to the exchange of information and experiences.

In this year's edition, it has been enhanced the role played by two fundamental elements, which, despite not being technical, are vitally important: legal issues and public communication. The positive performance of these two small teams (“Legad” and “StratCom”) of BT11 has contributed to the team presenting a coordinated image.

Unity, in cyberspace, is strength.
