April 16, 2024
  • This edition, held in Panama, was attended by more than 4,000 professionals from 35 countries

The meeting, under the slogan "Governing and sharing, the keys to success in cybersecurity", is organised by the National Cryptologic Centre (CCN in Spanish) of the National Intelligence Centre, the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE in Spanish) and the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE in Spanish), as the CERT of reference in Spain, and by the National Authority for Government Innovation of Panama..

The event, which has become an unavoidable date for public sector organisations in Iberoamerica, companies in the sector, universities and members of the cybersecurity community and professionals in this area, has once again received institutional support from the Organisation of American States (OAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Commander of the Join Cyberspace Command participated in the event, closing it accompanied by the Director of the National Intelligence Centre and the Administrator of the National Authority for Government Innovation, on behalf of the President of Panama.

Vice Admiral Javier Roca, in his closing speech at the conference, highlighted two basic ideas, "...this is about protecting and defending our way of life, our values, our fundamental rights and public freedoms", and "...the more technology we have, the more AI we have, the more important people will be, their ethic at work, their commitment, their aptitude and their vision... to remember every day why you do things".

These conferences have also served for the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE in Spanish) to contribute to fostering public-private relationships, this time in an international context, putting Spanish companies in contact with cyber commanders from friendly countries, which enhances the value of the national cyber defence industry.
