Last Wednesday, the first meeting of 2024 of the CSIRT.es forum, which brings together the national CSIRT/CERT security incident response teams, was held at the Retamares Base. The meeting was attended by more than fifty people from different companies and organisations, including CCN-CERT, INCIBE, Telefonica, the Civil Guard and Renfe, among others.
The CSIRT.es Forum provides an opportunity to exchange knowledge, share experiences and build relationships of trust to address emerging cybersecurity challenges.
Cybersecurity and technological resilience have become fundamental pillars for the development and security of our societies in an increasingly connected and interdependent world.
In the words of Vice Admiral Javier Roca Rivero, Commander of the Joint Cyberspace Command, "the common purpose of the meeting is to strengthen our capabilities and collaborate in the protection of our technological infrastructures and systems against cyber threats".
It is crucial to recognise that cyber security is not the sole responsibility of a single entity or sector, it requires the coordinated joint action of all involved sectors. Only through collaboration and teamwork can we strengthen our defences and ensure the security of our infrastructures and data.
Vice Admiral Javier Roca, on behalf of the Joint Cyberspace Command, thanked all the participants for their contribution and commitment to security, mentioning especially the speaker, a cybersecurity expert from ENISA's "AD Hoc Working Group on Security Operation Center".
The Coordinating Committee was also renewed. The Joint Cyberspace Command is running in the election represented by Lieutenant Bolivar, who has been part of the technical secretariat of CSIRT.es for several years.
