Completion of the NATO C-IED Staff Officers Course at the NATO C-IED Centre of Excellence

• Twenty-one students from twelve nationalities have participated in this year's edition.

From 26 February to 1 March, the Centre of Excellence against Improvised Explosive Devices (C-IED CoE) conducted a new edition of the C-IED Staff Officers Course at its facilities in Hoyo de Manzanares, Madrid.

Inaugurated by the Colonel Director of the C-IED CoE, Javier Corbacho Margallo, the course brought together twenty-one students from twelve nationalities; this year's edition included two students from the State Security Forces and Corps.

The objective of the course is to provide personnel assigned to staffs, headquarters or other operational units with the necessary training to advise the command leading the C-IED effort at both the tactical and operational levels.

Lectures were given by personnel assigned to the Centre and focused mainly on knowledge of the threat, doctrine and operational planning at both theoretical and practical levels. Several exercises were carried out in a fictitious scenario where the students had the opportunity to debate, share experiences and exchange knowledge.
