  • This first meeting between the two agencies strengthens ties on both sides of the Atlantic and enables international and private cooperation between the EU and Ibero-America.

First meeting held between the Cyber Commanders Conference of the European Union and the Ibero-American Cyber Defence Forum (FIC), organisms in which Spain is present and acts as a liaison between the two. Thanks to the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Joint Cyberspace Command has taken the opportunity to bring the two organisations to the same working table.

This international conference, chaired by Major General Rafael García Hernández, Commander of the Joint Cyberspace Command, is attended by a large number of EU and FIC cyber commanders, and for the first time allows us to join forces and pool both means and capabilities for practical collaboration. Spain's main mission within both forums is to be a unifying element among our allies, both European and Ibero-American.

This meeting is also allowing multiple organisations to exhibit their capabilities and knowledge, both in the private and public spheres, always in the field of security and defence. Companies such as ISDEFE, Microsoft and TEDAE have had the opportunity to participate in the conference, as well as the National Cryptologic Centre, in charge of giving way to a colloquium in which the procedures carried out by the different participating countries could be contrasted.
