Official visit to Spain by the Commander of Joint Force Command Norfolk, Vice Admiral Daniel Dwayer. On his arrival at the General Headquarters of the Defence Staff, he was received by Lieutenant General Fernando García González-Valerio, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JEMACON).
After a brief meeting with Admiral General Teodoro López Calderón, Chief of Defence Staff, Vice Admiral Dwayer held a working meeting at the Joint Chiefs of Staff (EMACON), chaired by the JEMACON and also including the participation of representatives of EMACON and the Operations Command.
During the meeting, a number of NATO issues of mutual interest were discussed, including the planned national contribution to plans from JFC Norfolk, security issues to be addressed and opportunities for involvement in upcoming surveillance activities or exercises. The future evolution of JFC Norfolk's structure to cope with the new tasks it will take on in the medium term was also discussed.
