A group of student sergeants from the Basic Air Academy visited the facilities of the Joint Cyberspace Command (MCCE, in Spanish) at the Retamares Base.
The group was received at the Command's facilities by its Chief of Staff, who welcomed them and introduced them to the missions and tasks assigned to the MCCE. They were given several lectures so that they could learn about the general structure of the unit and the specifics of each of the headquarters that ensure its operability. They were given specific information on the activities of the MCCE, such as the 2035 cyber-attacks analysed in 2022, a figure that marks both a significant increase in these operations and detection capacity. They were also briefed on the unit's current situation and future plans.
The day concluded with a visit to the COS-MDEF and the MCCE's ESP-CYOC, facilities that guarantee surveillance of cyber threats and the defence of the networks and systems of the Ministry of Defence and those assigned to it that may affect the Armed Forces' freedom of action in cyberspace.
Among the challenges that the Command will have to face in the future, in addition to all the missions that arise from its nature, it is worth highlighting the challenge posed by the creation and implementation of the Military Cyber Operations School.
Among the planned visits to the Joint Cyberspace Command (JCCC) during 2023, those from the Military Academies are of particular relevance. Through cooperation between military educational institutions and units, long-term ties are created by being able to mark the service aspirations of these new students with their future destinations.
