DEDALO 23 personnel, after initial reconnaissance patrols on the ground, has already started to support the population of Iskenderun. This morning they had already delivered more than 10 tonnes of water and food to the various NGOs working in the area for distribution.
A team of 74 Marines has begun to support the rescue work in the rubble in various parts of the city in coordination with the Madrid fire brigade.
In addition, the Spanish contingent deployed in Türkiye continues to work on managing the entry of Spanish civilian and military personnel into the Incirlik Air Base, the unloading and transport of the rescue teams that have been sent to Türkiye, the accommodation, and supply of food. Support is also being provided with light and heavy vehicles and camp material.
This morning an A400 aircraft took off from the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base for Türkiye, carrying more than 7,500 kilos of medicines and logistical support material for the population suffering the consequences of the earthquake and support for Spanish troops, respectively. The medicines have been donated by the Reina Sofia Foundation.
The aircraft is scheduled to arrive this afternoon at the Incirlink air base, where it will be disembarked by personnel from the Marines and the Spanish 'Patriot' contingent.
