Colonel Nael Mohamed Alshuqirat, accompanied by two officers from the Jordanian Special Operations Forces Group, visited the facilities of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) at Retamares Base, where he held a working meeting to discuss various issues of common interest and explore joint opportunities.
Afterwards, the Jordanian delegation, accompanied by a liaison officer from the MCOE, went to the Alférez Rojas Navarrete Base in Alicante to visit the Special Operations Command of the Spanish Army (MOE), and then to the Parachute Sapper Squadron (EZAPAC) of the Spanish Air Force at the Alcantarilla Air Base. The next day, the program continued with a visit to the Special Naval Warfare Force (FGNE) of the Navy in Cartagena.
During the visits it was possible to exchange impressions in the field of Special Operations regarding the scenarios in which both countries have common interests and where Special Operations Forces of both nations are currently deployed.
The activity is included in the Bilateral Collaboration Plan between Spain and Jordan and aims to increase mutual knowledge of the Special Operations units of both countries and to strengthen relations with a view to future exercises and collaborations.
This visit took place just after the celebration of the Middle East Conference for Special Operations Commanders and the International Special Operations Force Exhibition, SOFEX, which took place in Aqaba (Jordan) and was attended by the Commander of the MCOE, General Angel Herrezuelo. This is a sign of the good and close relations between Jordan and Spain in this field.
