The Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, presented today at the Sancho Ramírez Barracks the main events to be held in Huesca on the occasion of Armed Forces Day.
The CHOD expressed his gratitude to the Mayor of Huesca and the citizens for their willingness to host the celebration of Armed Forces Day in this city, which has centuries-old ties with the military. Admiral General López Calderón stressed that 'this year, the commemoration of Armed Forces Day is particularly gratifying for all of us who wear the uniform, since after two years where unfortunately the pandemic has not allowed us to hold large-scale events, we have been able to resume this celebration which is very significant for us, as it allows us to bring the Armed Forces closer to the citizens in a very direct and tangible way'.
He also had a special remembrance for all those soldiers who are away from Spain these days fulfilling their mission and who will also be celebrating DIFAS.
The commemorative events for Armed Forces Day will begin on Monday 23rd with the inauguration of two exhibitions at the Huesca Conference Centre and will conclude on Saturday 28th.
