Spanish CHOD holds a working meeting with his Italian counterpart

• Spain and Italy's commitment and contribution to NATO and the European Union, main topics of interest

The Chief of Defence Staff (JEMAD), Admiral General Teodoro Esteban López Calderón, has held a meeting with his Italian counterpart, General Enzo Vecciarelli, in Rome, fulfilling the official invitation received.

During the meeting, the generals discussed different topics of common interest, including the commitment and contribution of both countries to NATO and the European Union.

Admiral López Calderón stressed that this kind of meetings are essential for security reasons for both countries and their national positions within the framework of the international organisations to which they belong.

This visit proves the excellent relations between neighbouring and allied countries. Spain and Italy, besides sharing a common culture and common roots, are two countries that have common interests as reliable and relevant partners on the international stage.
