Agreement with Iberdrola for the development and dissemination of training and research activities related to Security and Defence

• The agreement has been signed by CHOD and Iberdrola's CEO

The Ministry of Defence and Iberdrola have signed an agreement with the aim of specifying Iberdrola's contribution to the development and dissemination of training and research activities in those fields of common interest to the parties.

The agreement was signed by Chief of Defence Staff, admiral general Teodoro E. López Calderón, and Iberdrola's CEO, Ignacio Galán.

During the signing ceremony , held at the Centre for National Defence Studies (CESEDEN), admiral López Calderón stressed that one of the areas promoted by the Iberdrola Foundation is training and research, and thanked Iberdrola for its support to the Armed Forces in these areas related to Security and Defence.

He also stated that this is not the first agreement that the Ministry of Defence has signed with Iberdrola and that such initiatives will enhance the educational work of CESEDEN and, therefore, training, research and innovation within the Armed Forces.

On the other hand, Ignacio Galán pointed out that "articulating cooperation strategies between public players and private organisations is essential for both corporate and institutional sectors to benefit from each other's respective capabilities. We are very pleased to extend Iberdrola's commitment to the institutions and to continue contributing, from our knowledge about climate change, energy transition and innovation, to the development and training of our Armed Forces".
