Combined Air Operations Centre Torrejón celebrates UK's National Day

Combined Air Operations Centre Torrejon (CAOCTJ) honored United Kingdom's National Day with the traditional raising of the flag ceremony chaired by  Lieutenant General Fernando de la Cruz Caravaca, CAOCTJ's Commander, accompanied by UK's Embassy officials, led by Second Chief of Mission, Tim Hemmings.

After welcoming the British delegation, CAOCTJ's Commander briefed the delegation on CAOC's structure, mission, legal framework and operational situation.

UK's national flag along with NATO's flag were raised and both anthems were played. Afterwards, some UK's servicemembers stationed at CAOCTJ were awarded with national decorations.

The main mission of the Torrejón Combined Air Operations Centre, under the direct command of a Spanish lieutenant general, is to plan, direct, coordinate, supervise, analyse and report on air defence operations in southern Europe, of the assets assigned to it in peace, following the directives of NATO's air component.
