The Chief of Defence (JEMAD in Spanish), Air General Miguel Angel Villarroya, has held a meeting this morning with his counterparts from NATO’s Military Committee by videoconference.
During the meeting, the Chiefs of Defence have reviewed NATO's missions, focusing on the future of Afghanistan and Iraq.
They addressed the concept of NATO, the Defence and Deterrence of the Euro-Atlantic Area Alignment (DDA), and the future of NATO in 20 years' time. They have also analysed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the lessons learned from it.
This meeting, initially scheduled to take place in Rome, is the second time that it is being held by videoconference as a preventive measure.
