Offshore patrol vessel 'Vigia' will call at Pointe Noire in the next few days as part of its African Deployment. Over the course of that visit, several Military Cooperation Activities are planned with the Congolese Navy and other local agencies responsible for countering illicit activities in the Gulf of Guinea. In addition, he will carry out activities in the area of Defense Diplomacy to strengthen ties with authorities of the host country.

During this stopover, joint cooperation exercises will be carried out with the Congolese Navy to reinforce maritime security in the area, knowledge of the maritime environment and first-aid medical assistance, among other activities. In addition, official visits will be made by the ship's crew to national maritime safety coordination organizations.

In the area of Defense Diplomacy Support, visits to Congolese civilian and military authorities accompanied by Embassy personnel are scheduled to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The warship started its deployment in mid-June this year, it will dock in Pointe Noire after having previously visited Mauritania, Cape Verde, Ghana and Nigeria. Its main mission during port calls is to contribute to the development of the maritime capabilities of the coastal states. In addition, the 'Vigia' participates in the activities belonging to the 'Coordinated Maritime Presences' concept of the European Union, strengthening capabilities against illicit activities that may occur in the Gulf of Guinea.
