Offshore patrol vessel 'Vigía' has arrived in Praia port (Cape Verde), willing to start the first Military Cooperation Activities in collaboration with the Armed Forces of that country, under the operational control of the Operations Command. Upon arrival, a coordination briefing was held to determine the initial needs of the local forces and the distribution of personnel between the conferences and practical training sessions.
The planned activities started this morning. These activities include healthcare and first aid training, boat handling practices and boat engine lessons. In addition, lectures and practical classes on surveillance and maritime safety and homeland security will be held tomorrow. All crew members are involved in the activities at different levels.
On the other hand, visits to different regional and national authorities are scheduled within the framework of strengthening diplomatic relations between both countries, as well as different protocol acts during the entire stay.
