The Spanish contingent of the European Union Training Mission in Mali (EUTM Mali) has concluded the rehabilitation works of a school in Tantéa-Coro, one of the nearby localities of Koulikoro, place of deployment of the Spanish soldiers.

Thanks to the rehabilitation and construction of a school building of three classrooms equipped with school furniture, children of the area will be able to develop their educational background in an optimal way. Said works are included in the Mission´s programme of activities CIMIC (Civic-Military activities), managed by the Operations Command, under the Spanish Defence Staff.

The opening ceremony, attended by a wide representation of local authorities, has involved the participation of most of the Tantéa-Coro and other nearby localities population, together with about one hundred children, who will be future students of those classrooms.

During the speeches, the Malian authorities have shown their gratitude and support to the Spanish contingent for contributing to educational development among their children, the ones that will shape the future of Mali.

After the ceremony, authorities have planted four trees, as a way of symbolizing the beginning of a prosperous future for the school. The day finished with tamtam music, followed by typical African dances, showing participants´ joy.
