The AN/TPS-43M of the Mobile Air Control Group exceeds 2,000 hours of operations in the Area of Operations

• The Army Air and Space Detachment in Romania continues to outdo itself

The AN/TPS-43M radar of the Mobile Air Control Group (MACG) deployed south of Constanta, in Romania, has more than 2,000 hours of continuous operation outside Spanish territory.

In the more than 20 years that the radar has been with MACG, it has participated in numerous exercises and has been deployed on many occasions throughout the national territory. Coinciding with the first time it has participated in an international operation, this record number has been reached.

The achievement of this milestone has been possible thanks to the great work done by all the personnel of the detachment, in particular by the technical staff of MACG, without whom this figure could not have been reached. These personnel have accumulated more than 20 years of service working with the same radar, experience that is added to the constant training plans and the continuous theoretical and practical evaluations necessary to reach the required levels of preparation to be able to deploy and maintain the aforementioned radar.

Another important aspect to take into account is the existence of adequate logistics, both in the Area of Operations and in the National Territory, which allows the repair of possible breakdowns in a short period of time
