Eurofighters from Detachment Vilkas participate in the 'Festival of the Sea' in Klaipėda

• Two of the Spanish Eurofighters participating in the Baltic Air Police (BAP) operation participated in the Klaipėda Sea Festival in honor of those who died in the Baltic Sea

On the occasion of the annual celebration in the Lithuanian city of Klaipėda of the Festival of the Sea, in tribute to those who lost their lives in the Baltic Sea, two of our Eurofighters deployed to the Šiauliai Air Base in Lithuania within the BAP operation participated in the aerial overflight that was carried out as part of the commemorative events that took place.

This tradition of honouring those who died at sea has been celebrated in this town in Lithuania since 1934, remembering the fishermen, sailors, passengers or planes that fell in the Baltic.

Since last April 30, Spain leads the rapid reaction alert mission integrated into the Baltic Air Police 'BAP' (Baltic Air Policing), with the 'Eurofighter' from Wing 14 and 130 soldiers from different national-territory units, being the eighth Spanish participation.
