• The Spanish Brigade in Lebanon participates in the International Women's Day race

On the occasion of International Women's Day, several activities have taken place in Naqoura with the participation of personnel from different UNIFIL contingents.

The day began with a race in which around one hundred runners of various nationalities. This four kilometer race took place inside the Naqoura Base, which houses the UNIFIL Headquarters.

The Spanish contingent has obtained a magnificent result. The winner of the men's race was Sergeant José María Rios García and second place went to Sergeant Bernardo Enrich Benejam, both from the Transmissions Unit. Denis Puch from the Polish contingent was third. In the women's category, the winner was Paulina Kashinska, also from the Polish contingent, the silver medal went to Shelley Keho from the Irish contingent and third place was taken by the runner from the Italian contingent, Sabrina Flacco .

At the end of the race, the champions received the medal from General Aroldo Lázaro, Head of the UNIFIL mission. The General took advantage of the ceremony to award the Commander Krunal Jahdav, gender adviser at the East Sector Headquarters and Sergeant Adriana Aguilar, gender adviser at the UNIFIL Headquarters, with a distinction,

Over the course of the day there was also a taekwondo exhibition by the Korean contingent, musical performances and traditional dances from various nationalities. The day concluded with a food tasting of traditional food from some of the countries that make up the UNIFIL forces.
