The Lebanese population receives UNIFIL support to contain the spread of COVID-19

•  BRILIB XXXII Military Personnel delivered coronavirus protection material donated by UNIFIL in Marjayoun

The Commander of the Spanish Brigade in Lebanon (BRILIB XXXII) and Commander of Sector East of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), General Marcos Llago Navarro, presided over the donation of personal protective equipment and other material to prevent the transmission of COVID-19

These materials will benefit 13 localities and 10 state institutions in the area, in support of the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health in the Marjayoun area. The representative of the Ministry of Public Health, Anis Wanna, thanked UNIFIL for the support to the population of South Lebanon through the projects carried out in the area.

General Llago, representing UNIFIL's Force Commander, presided over the delivery of the material, which included protective face masks (1900 units), virus protective suits (125 units), disinfectant liquid for hand washing (500 units), disposable latex gloves (1500 units) and face shields (90 units). In addition, 10,500 litres of chlorine solution and infrared front thermometers (30 units) were delivered.

 

 

By this support, UNIFIL seek to improve capacities and enhance efforts to prevent the spread of the virus.
